Kapha

its characteristics

Kapha energy is composed of Water and Earth. It regulates the water-based functions of the body and governs strength and mass. It lubricates the joints and supports the body's immune system.
People with a predominance of Kapha tend to gain weight easily and may find it difficult to lose. They are inclined to be slow and solidly built. They often have thick, oily skin and abundant, shiny hair, large eyes and strong nails. They may have a tendency towards inactivity, although they can withstand demanding physical work. They sleep well and should be careful not to sleep excessively.
The temperament of Kapha types can appear slow and reluctant to accept change or unfamiliar situations. They tend to conserve energy, strength and money rather than spend them. They are tolerant, forgiving, calm and slow to anger.
In personal relationships they may tend towards possessiveness. Their sexual energy is generally steady, and loyalty and fidelity tend to come naturally.
The pulse of Kapha types is traditionally compared to "the swan". It is described as slow, steady, broad, regular and warm.
