People with a predominance of Pitta tend towards the middle ground, both physically and mentally. In general, they have smooth skin; their hair may turn grey early and men may become bald prematurely. Pitta types have an active metabolism and a good appetite, prefer astringent and sweet tastes and cold drinks, perspire abundantly and tend to have a warm body temperature. They are fairly active but may dislike very heavy physical work. They are sharp, ambitious and often display leadership qualities. They tend to enjoy beautiful and refined things and combine creativity with stability.
The pulse of Pitta types is traditionally compared to "the frog". It is described as moderately fast and somewhat irregular.
