Ayurveda is an intricate system of healing that originated in India thousands of years ago. Clear historical evidence of Ayurveda can be found in the ancient manuscripts of wisdom known as the Vedas. In the Rig Veda, more than 60 remedies are mentioned that could be used to help an individual restore balance among the various elements.
The Rig Veda was written more than 6,000 years ago, but Ayurvedic knowledge is actually even older than this.
What becomes clear is that Ayurveda is much more than simply a healing or medical system.
It is a Science of Life. We are all an integral part of nature, both individually and collectively. Just as animals and plants live in harmony with nature, using the laws of Nature to generate health and balance within themselves, we as individuals also follow these same principles.
It is therefore appropriate to say that Ayurveda is a system that helps maintain health by using the inherent principles of nature to guide the individual back towards balance with their own true nature.
Essentially, Ayurveda has existed since the beginning of time, because the laws of Nature have always governed us.
