Part of history discovered from Arjava Frank Petter
Japanese Reiki techniques and the activations are belonging to the school of the Gendai Reiki Master Hiroshi Doi. View the source, is believed to be the same techniques that were used and are still used today at the Japanese School of Master Usui: Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. As I mentioned in "The history of Reiki", Usui was
not a Catholic priest but a follower of Buddhism.
The only reason that Takata had told the legend of the Catholic minister, was that in 1941 the Americans had entered the war following the attack received by the
Japanese at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Consequently, the Japanese were not frowned upon and if Takata, a Hawaiian of Japanese descent, he said that Reiki was a method of natural healing rediscovered by a Japanese who followed the Buddhist teachings, Reiki most likely would not have spread so easily.
Nor is it correct to say that the teaching Usui Reiki is a technique to be passed down orally for a wish of the founder. Far from it. Recent extensive research by Frank Arjava Petter, a Western Master who lives and works in Japan, came to light that Usui released a manual to his students practice Reiki, transcribed above with the various positions to run for different diseases, because of benefit people in therapeutic practice. Even had developed five different types of mental treatment, to bind individually to several diseases, assessed on a case by case basis.
Nor is it true that dying Usui had chosen as his sole successor, Dr. Hayashi. Usui had actually begun several Master throughout his life.
After his death were probably created several lines of Reiki, one of which is to come in the West which is headed by Chujiro Hayashi and Hawayo Takata. These in turn have made several changes to the Original Reiki of Usui practiced at the school certainly make it more affordable for us Westerners.
A personal note
According to other Japanese sources, the manual of Dr. Usui was prepared and transcribed by Dr. Hayashi, a Japanese army doctor, on the request of the Usui itself.
I think that we will never discover the true history of this manuscript.
